In the beginning of a relationship did/do you guys text all day?

We’re still in the dating/talking stage & we both want this but we’re trying not to rush. Anyways, everything is going well. He texts me every morning & we’ll have a very brief convo then he wont text me anymore for hours. If I double text him he texts back right away so I know he just chooses not to talk to me all day. Idk if I sound possessive but im just use to talking to my man all day in past relationships. Im wondering if this is a red flag??? Any advice helps lol.

You don't have to be talking all day. That is NOT a red flag. Does he work all day? Is he busy? People do not have to be on their phones all day long. If that's the only issue then no, that's not a red flag at all.

I worry when a guy is sitting around texting me all day. Like does he not have hobbies, a job, a life?

When my husband & I first started dating I worked a midnight shift. I'd text him in the morning when my shift ended then around lunch/ dinner time when I'd wake up and he was off work. We would also talk on the phone while I drove to work for my shift. I think phone conversations are so much more important than texting...and I think now since phones are so much more common the expectations to text 24/7 are there. You think the other should be available 24/7 since they have their phone on them, even though a healthy relationship dosnt require contact constantly. I wouldn't worry too much. If texting right back is important to you maybe let him know for you in a relationship you expect him to be available to you all day and that constant communication is important to you.

We were working on planet of the apes so we were around each other for 18 hours a day 5-7 days a week for the first 6 months of our relationship

Yep, all day everyday. We still do that now whenever possible, but we both have school and he works two jobs. We’re either together or texting all day on his days off, though.

With mt new bf we text throughout the day. We both live busy lives running errands, at work, or doing things for school. But we do keep in touch throughout the day. Usually mornings, nights, and during the day just to check up on each other (on the days we dont spend together).
