My Birth Story
So my story starts at 35.5 weeks...
On 12/6/18 I went in for my weekly check up with my doctor, I had a third trimester ultrasound that day before my appointment. Get in there to find out that
1) baby girl is transverse breech
2) she’s measuring small - like weeks behind small
So I go up for my appointment and my doctor tells me we can schedule a c-section for Jan 2nd or try an inversion. I opted for the c-section. The results of the ultrasound hadn’t been sent up yet, so she assumed everything was fine. As I was in the elevator to leave I get a call from my nurse. She told me to come back in. It turns out I had very little amniotic fluid - less than 6 total for 35.5 weeks.
She told me that I needed to head over to the hospital immediately, where I will stay as an in-patient for the next 2 weeks and be monitored 3x a day.
Day 1 in Hospital
I see my doctor the next day and she tells me that the following week they will check for growth and the level of amniotic fluid - to see if there’s a decrease or increase in growth. So here I sit in the hospital waiting and worrying.
On the monitor
Keep in mind - my husband is on call for the two weeks that I’m in the hospital which is an hour away - downtown. So he wasn’t able to visit me during the week.
The next week passes and I get my ultrasound - there isn’t any change in the amniotic fluid levels and there hasn’t been any change in growth. At 36.5 weeks they hamd her measuring at 4 lbs 9 oz. She was also still breech.
My doctor decided that the following week at 37 weeks she will take her out via c-section! We chose 12/19 :)
The weekend passes and my husband is finally able to take off work the night before surgery.

That is my amazing doctor who pulled her out! A side note: this doctor has been with me for a previous miscarriage, diagnosing that I have PCOS, and putting me on fertility medication to help me conceive this sweet girl. I am so forever grateful to her! She was also 16 weeks pregnant herself the day of surgery!
Here is my baby at 2 months!
