When to try?

I miscarried naturally at 5wks. My dr suggested waiting until my next period to try again just for dating purposes if I were to become pregnant. How long did you guys wait? Until after your first period or sooner? I think the hormone surge is making me crazy!

I did not wait after my first one and got pregnant again right away. Even before my next period. I miscarried again before 5 weeks. I then took one cycle off and got pregnant again the first cycle we tried again but I just found out my levels are dropping and I’m about to miscarry again before hitting 5 weeks. I don’t say that to scary, but just to say that I’m not sure there is a right answer. I know someone who got pregnant again right away and is now 34 weeks. I know someone who got pregnant 3 months in a row and is now still progressing with the 3rd pregnancy. So sorry for your loss. Good luck!

My fertility doctor said their is no real solid based evidence that you have to wait to try again. She wanted me to wait until I got my first real period after my d&c though. I’m assuming to let my lining build up before starting medication since it can thin your lining.

First, so sorry for your loss 😕 I waited until after my first period because I bled for a while after my d&c and just wanted to give my body a break. Plus it gave me time to heal after the loss. But if you’re emotionally ready to try immediately, and the only reason your doctor told you not to was for dating purposes (and not actual medical risks), then do what feels right!
