Is it a good gift??

My friend is having a baby shower soon. I like making home made gifts for people because I’m naturally crafty. I really want to make a handmade spinning doc for her little girls bows and head bands. It would be something that you clip the bows to and head bands to. Is this a good gift idea or should I just order from her registry??

I wouldn’t say its a bad gift. But I know when I had my baby shower I really NEEDED the other stuff. I am a minimalist. Gimme what I NEED.

I mean...people make a registry for a reason. But I loved getting homemade gifts! If you know this friend well, I would do it. But if you are casual friends I would probably just stick with the registry.

I would not like it as a gift, personally. 
That doesn’t mean others wouldn’t.... I think it depends on this person’s want and need.

If you're going to have some bows and headbands to go on it to then sure. Otherwise it may just sit there empty

I love to craft too so when I craft something especially for a baby shower I inform myself if it’s something they would use.
Last year I made quite a few growth charts. But before making them I asked their moms 1. If that was something the parents were wanting 2. If yes, what colors was the room it would be in. 
I’d try to get info before making it so at least it’s not a waste of time.. also you could buy something small off the registry so it’s a 2 for 1

I love home made gifts and I think is more personal than a gift from the shop - however in my case I did not need any hairclips until
My daughter was 2 as her hair gree slowly and curly.
And I hate bows! 😊 but if she is into it do it!

I know its generic, but PAMPERS & Wipes are the best! Being a mom, you get so much stuff because it looks good, when half the time, it just get loss in translation. 
You are amazing for wanting to do that but try this. 
Buy the mom to be things to put in her hospital bag or get her a pretty bag and fill it up with(slippers, candle, pretty gown and robe, toiletries, socks,  panties)
Give her a gas card or grocery gift card
And when all else fail diapers and wipes!!

I would ask her. I personally  wouldn't  want  something  thats going to tske up space that I might have planned for something else.  I HATE  "things" i have to display.

People generally make a registry for a reason.
I have a little girl and have never had her wear clips or bows (she’s 10 months with long hair). So a gift like that would be lost of me because I’m not a girly girl 🤷🏻‍♀️
The handmade gift sounds like a great idea, but you should make sure that she will use it 😊
