Here We Go
My husband and I have been together since I was 15. We will both turn 26 this year. We’ve never used anything other than the pull out method and the occasional condom to not get pregnant. Back in 2015 we decided to not even take those precautions and decided if we got pregnant great, but we weren’t in a hurry. Well around late 2016 when it still hadn’t happened yet we decided to be a little more intentional about it and started tracking my period. In 2017 I started taking my temperature and even did a few ovulation testing months. We finally got a positive pregnancy test on the day I should have started my period in July 2017. I miscarried about a week later. We were both devastated and heartbroken but didn’t let it stop us from continuing to try. Well we still haven’t had any success and it’s just so emotional and hard to see that I’ve started my period each month. We are finally in a position to start looking into things medically. Today I had my first appointment with an OB/GYN in our new city and I talked to her about our journey. She had them take blood for hormone testing and scheduled me for an ultrasound in two weeks to check out things internally as well. I’m excited to start this next step and hopefully get some answers and some help so we can start building the family we’ve always wanted! I would love to hear about your experiences and any advice you have as we start this fertility testing process!
