Being checked

Is it weird my doctor hasn’t check me yet? I keep telling her I’m getting contractions but they get pretty strong at times but she won’t check me I’m 36 weeks. I’m just confused because others are being checked I always see it in the group, I just really want to now but also shy to flat out ask 😕
