Why are did you get an induction date?

Question

I am 37w3days and had an ultrasound yesterday and was told my baby is measuring 8lbs8oz... I know there is room for error but I also know he is a big baby (my fundal height is 43cm)...
Anyways I have my next appointment at 38w1d...
What are the chances I'll get an induction date?!  I dont need him here early but I also dont want him cooking past my due date of March 19th....
I realllllly dont want to have to deliver over a 10lb baby lol
Just looking on how everyone got an induction date... anything I can say to convince doctor lol

My doctor will induce after 39 weeks if your cervix is favorable and you are a second time mom with no history of csection or if baby is measuring in the 90th percentile. All drs are different though, my last dr would not talk induction until 41 weeks.

Depending on the doctor and how favorable your cervix is, you might be able to do an elective induction. But I don’t recommend it. Only because that’s what I did Tuesday. Was on pitocin from 7:30am-4:30pm and nothing changed. Just had constant contractions 2 minutes apart all day. Made no progress at all. They decided to send us home! Didn’t know that was a thing!! I was so mad at my doctor for planting that seed in my head, cause of course I am over being pregnant and just wanted my baby out. I am also measuring 2-3 weeks ahead. Due date tomorrow. I decided to see a different doctor and she said well talk about induction at 41+ weeks

My last was 9 lbs & came fast no epidural stitches in & outside & I want to make sure I’m able to get epidural. My
Doctor will induce at 39 weeks for no reason so I’m being induced next Sunday

I'm planning on asking my doctor at my next appt how far past due date their practice allows patients to go before they induce. Everything is going well with baby, she's actually a little small, but I feel like having a more definitive end date mentally will help me make it through these last few weeks. 
You could maybe ask that, followed by a question of if due to size, they would induce you any sooner or at what point to be concerned about size and induction being on the table. Like turn it into a conversation where they can share information rather than outright asking to be induced.

My induction date is 2 weeks at 39weeks. Only because prepregnsncy I have high blood pressure and they don’t want to risk it going high and developing preeclampsia

Many drs wont until after 40 weeks but you certainly can ask. More than likely there wont be anything you can do to convince them, but they just have to follow the clinic or hospital policy. My daughter measured over 10# at her 40w BPP and they still wouldn't induce til 41 weeks. She was 8# 9oz at 41+3 when she was finally born.

Got GD and now preeclampsia has made its dreaded debut. Baby is measuring 9 days ahead of schedule. Getting induced on Tuesday.

I was given an induction date for GD with insulin... So not a road you can opt into (luckily for you! GD sucks)
