Went into L&D yesterday because of decreased fetal movement. They hooked me up and everything was okay. I was having contractions but mild. I did have 2 borderline high blood pressure readings so they wanted to induce me (I also have GD). We decided to induce and at around 2pm the started pitocin. I was at 4cm 70% effaced. I wanted to use no pain meds/epidural but knew it would be different with the pitocin. I was doing pretty good when all of a sudden they got stronger and closer together. I decided to get the epidural but at the same time had the urge to push. Nurse checked me and I was about 7.5cm dilated. She said she would call anesthesiologist. I said I had to pee, so my husband helped me to the toilet and as soon as I sat down the urge to push took over. It was lowkey scary it came on so quick. My husband pulled the cord and nurses came flying in. My bag bulging and baby’s head was there. We made it to the bed and I pushed once and out she came! It was a whirlwind. I can’t believe how fast she came and how quick the induction process happened. But so happy & in love.
