Progesterone check??

Hi! So I had my IUI yesterday. My next appointment in next Friday to check my progesterone levels and check my ovaries. Then the following week they will do my pregnancy test. Can someone please clue me in on what the progesterone check is?? I’m so lost lol

We had our 2nd IUI on 2/25 and I go in today 3/4 to have my progesterone levels checked. We are seeing a different specialist than from our first IUI.  But with the last one I had to take progesterone 3Xs a day vaginally once pregnancy was confirmed.  This new specialist wants to test my levels now to verify if my progesterone is high enough to support a pregnancy.  My guess is I’ll still need the progesterone based on history.  But that’s my long winded answer, it’s to check that your hormone levels are high enough to support an early pregnancy.

I have progesterone on Wednesday they also want to check to make sure my body is responding to the medicine or if they need to change the dosage.

In addition to the other response your progesterone level can also confirm ovulation.

Progesterone is a hormone that is needed to support a pregnancy. If it’s low they will probably start you on medication some times oral, sometimes suppository, or sometime injections to bump it up.
