Are you more likely to have a miscarriage if you had trouble getting pregnant?

We have been trying for over a year now and are in good health. I’m taking clomid and it hasn’t been working so far. I read a lot of stories on here about mothers who had a tough time getting pregnant too and when they did, they lost the baby. It just makes me nervous to let my guard down and get excited and ecstatic if I see those 2 lines someday.

I think it's just more noticeable because we are heavily tracking our cycles. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. So it's pretty often.  I think most woman who aren't using meds dont notice their miscarriages...

No. Trouble conceiving does not mean you’ll be more likely to miscarry.

Not necessarily. While every woman is likely to experience at least once miscarriage during her life (as they are as common as 1 out of every 4 or 5 pregnancies, possibly more common), unless there is an issue with the quality of eggs, sperm, or an issue with your uterus, there shouldn’t necessarily be an increased risk of miscarriage.
My midwife had assured me of this when I asked her. I have PCOS and it’s been difficult for me to get pregnant, but that’s due to infrequent ovulation. When I asked her point blank if I would have trouble *staying* pregnant she said no. When they did the transvaginal ultrasound, they found that my uterus was perfectly healthy, and other than some minor cysts, my ovaries were healthy too. She said she expected that once I get pregnant, there should be no increased risk of miscarriage.
If you’re concerned, you can always have your doctor run some bloodwork and tests and whatnot to check your overall health (if they haven’t already) and they can inform you if they notice anything that may be a problem.

I tried for just under a year and fell pregnant and lost the baby very early on.
I fell pregnant with my first child after 8 months of trying, now I've a beautiful 8 year old boy. 
But I know people who haven't been trying long, who have fallen pregnant and lost the pregnancy too.
I don't think it matters how long you try for, if something is wrong you will miscarry. If everythings fine, you won't.
It really is just more 'luck of the draw' so to speak. Nothing in life is guaranteed.
Fingers crossed when you do get that BFP it'll stick. ❤️
