Need some answers?

Ok so my 3 year old daughter had some lose skin on her thumb at school yesterday and she said she picked it and it started to bleed and she put a band aid on, and this morning she came to me that her thumb hurt and it looked like this (picture below). Any advice? Does it look infected? She said it hurts and it feels warm to the touch.

I agree with a warm/hot bath to clean it, try to get the yellow “gunk” out then put an antibacterial cream on it and bandaid if you don’t have cream a bandaid should be fine if the area is clean, 
For me infected hang nails clear up quickly after being cleaned and covered

Yes, Its an infection. Give her children tylenol, have her take a warm/hot bath. Make sure she keeps her hand in the water. Then, if you can seen if you can squeeze the puss/infection out of it. Also, try to separate the skin from the nail, so it doesn't become ingrown. Good luck!!

Definitely infected. The same thing happened to my 5 month old and she needed a course of antibiotics

Updat! Thank you ladies, my sister whose a nurse confirmed that it was infected, I gave her a hot bath squeezed the puss out or what I could before she started screaming and moving, I put a dot of hydrogen peroxide on it and put a band aid on it, I’ll let you know how she looks tomorrow

My daughter had that happen and ended up having to go to urgent care to get all the puss out.

Be very careful with an Infection like that. Keep a close eye on it. If it gets worse go get it checked out. But for now I would try cleaning it out like the other ladies suggested. maybe pour some peroxide on it and then keep it bandaged up.  My friend in public school had the same thing happen and ended up getting a bad infection and had to be put on heavy antibiotics through an IV because they were scared it would go to his heart.
