How’s your relationship with your mother-in-law?

My MIL keeps making excuses for not seeing my daughter, but then bitches that she never gets to see her. She also constantly argues with me about what my daughter wants. I’m so done with her.

I’ve never met my mother in law and I will never met her! My in laws have nothing to do with my boyfriends two kids from a previous relationship so I refuse to met them or let them have any chance to met or see our daughter

She's so messy and clumsy and lazy. Doesn't make breakfast or lunch on most days. She never made dinner for 30 yrs, just had what's leftover from lunch. She has to criticize everything I say or do. If I say right, she'll say left. I say my son is sleepy, she'll throw that out the window and smirk what sleep? He won't sleep now. I have to live with her though...we are a joint family meh!

I wish I was able to have my MIL around for our baby. She passed just about two years ago, she was a doula and had 5 children herself. my boyfriends older brother recently got married so she was very excited about grandchildren. I know she would be so happy to be around and helping with the baby and my boyfriend would give the world to have her here. His sister passed 11 years ago as well so having the first baby out of his siblings was very hard on him and I had no idea how to help him cope, and still don’t really.

I got so lucky. I love my in laws. My family isn’t super close but I feel so close with his mom and sister. I’m even taking the kids to stay with them for a week while my husband is away for business because I don’t want to stay home alone haha.
