Why don’t you ovulate during placebo week ?

One thing I’ve never understood about BC pills are placebo weeks. Why is that if I miss a single pill during my active weeks that my chances of conceiving are significantly higher due to the fact that I may ovulate but yet I can go an entire week with no hormones and still be covered ? I’m not really concerned, I just wanna know how or why ? 💕

Each week has a different combination of hormones, a different recipe if you will. If you take the pills in the wrong order, or skip pills during the active weeks, that mixup of recipes can lead to ovulation.
During your placebo week, the recipe up to that point is preparing your body for the withdrawal of hormones, which should bring on your period.

Basically the three weeks you take the real pills have you covered. The week you take the placebo pills you don’t actually have a period, you have “withdrawal bleeding.”
