Pretty long I suppose but this is my birth story lol.

So on February 28Th I literally got off the phone with my mom who is out of state in Virginia I'm in Maryland. We finished making our last Minute plans of when she was going to leave to come up and what was the last minute things and needs that needed to be done before my due date of March 7Th. I had been to the doctors prior to that convo with my mom on Feb 26Th told me I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced but since this was my first child that it would probably be a week or two before I made more progress haha wrong!

330am March 1st I woke up outta sleep with some pressure like gas pressure or poop pressure but nothing was coming out so I just sat on the toilet for about 5 mins went back into my room. Had my Boyfriend rub my back as I was having some back pain and I just wanted to go back sleep. I start dosing off around 4:15ish and I sprung up with the same feeling went to the bathroom nothing. Came back to my room laid down started feeling like I was gonna start my period. Boyfriend rubbed my back again until I started dosing off for the second time around 5:15ish and again just as I'm about to drift away I popped up with the same pressure and slight cramping again to the bathroom I went again nothing. Finally I took some Tylenol and broke out the heating pad. Started reading glow forum posts on my phone just scrolling ect. I felt like I had peed myself just felt liquid slowly leaking into my shorts and I think to myself this isn't my water can't be no way. Told my boyfriend I think I peed myself or my water broke jokingly haha well I went emptied my bladder and before I put pressure to pee as soon as I sat down another gush of liquid came out then I peed. I was kinda like yea no that was pee haha. I put panties on sat down and waited about 5 mins and told my boyfriend if I stand up and I feel a gush it has to be my water and well as soon as I stood up another gush and then I knew it was for sure my water. This was at 6am called my mom told her plans had changed she needed to leave work and start driving to Maryland lol

9am get to labor and delivery get checked in to triage to make sure it was in fact my water. Mean while I was now lossing a ton of discharge and muscus plug that I had never experienced my whole pregnancy. This was my first so I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing or seeing lol surprised I was as calm as I was. So I get swabbed to checked for amniotic fluid and my cervix checked I was still 1cm and 50% effaced but it was comfirmed it was my water. So now I'm being admitted being put on pitocin because I wasn't contracting myself.

Around 4pm I needed to pee contractions were there but very tolerable to me. I had a weird discharge of greenish color come out so nurse phoned the doctor. Apparently she said that the baby must of gotten stressed due to the pitocin and had a Bowel movement and if ingested in the womb could be dangerous for baby so now she would have to have the nicu there for when I delivered that was my first scare of my labor.

6pm - contractions are getting stronger can't really take it anymore so they checked me still only 1cm but 75% effaced contractions tho are 3 mins apart they offered the epidural to me but also offered IV meds first. I figured I'd start with that since I could still move around.

9pm contractions are getting way more intense and coming every minute couldn't take it anymore so I decided to go with the epidural. I got poked twice and I must inform you if u have never gotten one u can hear and feel a popping or crunching type noise it's so weird lol as soon as she got it in and me into bed and set up I felt relief so she leaves. About two minutes later my nurse starts freaking out apparently my blood pressure dropped to 90/55 I didn't even feel different and the babies heart rate dropped. She puts me on oxygen calls the chick back that did the epidural she came in with some medicine and put it in my iv and with in minutes babies heart beat went back to normal and my blood pressure came back up a little bit. Scare number two of labor lol

1am March 2nd epidural was working to a point but I could still feel pressure so I knew when I was contracting. I got checked and I was 4cm 90% effaced and station -2 I was told at this point my progress was slow and that I might have to think about another option due to the fact my water did break and the longer I'm in labor the more I'm prone to infection and also the babies heart beat kept dipping..... Scare number 3 as I didn't want to get a C section.

5am contractions are so strong and so close together the epidural literally wasn't doing anything for me I could feel all the pressure of every contraction and even pain with it so my nurse asked for a top off of the epidural meds to see if it helped and well it did for about 20 mins it didn't last long I kept feeling the worse pressure of my life. Felt like I had to poop and I kept feeling gushes of stuff coming outta my lady part I for sure thought ok this is it so we phoned the doctor she comes and Checks me I'm only 5 cms 90% effaced and still station -2 I was so frustrated.

7am even with the button I could hit every 20 mins with the epidural contractions and pressure had gotten the best of me I was in agony constantly breathing through contractions one after another felt like I only had 30 second breaks so the doctor comes and Checks me I'm 6cm 90% effaced and still station -2 I'm beyond upset at this point thinking the worse.

730am I went from breathing through contractions to literally barely being able to breath at all because within a instant the pressure was so intense I felt like my butt hole was about to pop. Doctor came back in and checked me again 6cm 90% effaced but I was station 0 she had finally dropped. She tells me you may have her by noon I'm thinking oh boy that's awhile away feeling like this.

830am I'm at the point of almost screaming but containing myself by breathing and moaning through every contraction the pressure was the worst and again epidural does nothing to help the pressure feeling. My mom got the doctor to check me again and to my surprise I was ready to push I had gone from 6cm 90% effaced station 0 to fully dilated and thinned out in an hour. Even the doctor and nurse was surprised lmao

So 30 mins of pushing and my daughter was literally hanging half way out my vagina because the doctor didn't even have her gloves on yet because she assumed because this was my first I'd be pushing awhile but no I wanted her out lol so one more little push and she was out at 9:06 am on Saturday March 2nd I had a very small tear internally that I got one stitch for but she debated if she wanted to or not because it was tiny but that was it.

She was worth every second of my 24hr labor she is perfect and healthy as can be! I would do it all over again with out hesitation!! 💕💕
