Asthma, pneumonia & hospital
I just got out of hospital for an asthma exacerbation, I was in ICU for 3 days, normal ward for 4 days.
When I was on the normal ward they put me next to an elderly woman with pneumonia. Since getting out of hospital I’ve consistently still felt breathless.
I have severe eosinophilic asthma so being breathless is just typical. But I knew the bottom of my lungs have been feeling “air hungry” when I usually feel it up higher.
Just tonight I’ve felt grumbling and crackling in my lungs when I breathe. When I breathe out it almost sounds like the death rattle, I automatically cough uncontrollably.
When I cough it sounds harsh and fluid-ish. Not from my upper chest and throat like usual, it feels really deep down.
Could this potentially be pneumonia caught from the old lady? I’ve never had pneumonia so I don’t know how it feels, just head colds put me in ICU so I’ve never let my health get that bad.
My muscles are too tight and tired to cough it out properly so I’m left with no breath in my lungs coughing with no air coming out.
