Deployment homecoming advice
This was our first deployment and it was extremely hard on all of us. My husband left when our baby was only 3 months old and is returning when he’s a 1 year and 2 months.
Now that we are getting closer to the homecoming date (that I honestly thought would never get here!!) I am getting really nervous and anxious. I feel like a completely different person having taken on the role of a single parent while not having much communication with my husband. I’m worried that he might have a hard time realizing how different I have become and that our relationship is going to be different since he really wasn’t around when I took on a “mom” role. (He left for training a week after our son was born and was only home a few weeks before deploying)
I’m also really worried that our son will not recognize him or be scared and have a hard time being relaxed around him.
Any advice from others who have been through this before?
I can’t wait to have my husband home and to be a normal family again but I’m finally used to the life I’ve been having to live the past 8 months and now I’m just super anxious and stressed?!
