I said diet because you can work out for hours a day but if you’re living on Poptarts and soda, you’re not going to see many results... I also don’t suggest any fad diets. Living an active lifestyle (walking/jogging, weekly Zumba class or something similar, etc) as well as eating less processed food and if I do eat or drink things like cake or soda it is very moderate portions. I never cut out anything completely but after awhile I just didn’t want things like soda anymore. It’s amazing what we can get our bodies to be less addicted to.

Diet is ~70% of the equation. The rest is activity. I highly recommend slowly changing your diet and slowly adding workouts (whether that’s a favourite sport, cardio or weight lifting - whatever feels good. Weight lifting will likely be the most effect approach though)

I’ve heard diet is 80% of weight loss . If you eat better you can lose weight with out exercise but it’s best to do both.

80% diet and 20% fitness. That is what I tell all my students that come to my fitness classes. Plus I'm Plate by Zumba certified and they went over that during my certification. 😁

Calorie deficit. If you’re not in a calorie deficit you won’t lose weight/ drop body fat. Working out is just 20% of it. The rest is your diet.
