Yes I have herpes like most of the world has.

I was never told that getting regularly tested for STI's should be a part of my prevention plan and even though I asked the right questions and made sure there was protection, I still ended up with a lifetime problem. Everyone please get tested regularly and make sure your partner gets tested too. If they refuse and/or are not up front and honest about their history, they are NOT worth your time. I'm lucky that my life long soul mate is unfazed by my predicament but others won't be so understanding.

I’ve only had one sexual partner, my husband and I have been sexually active since we were dating in high school. I’ve gotten tested for STIs on a regular basis, about once every year since we became sexually active. Not because I don’t trust my husband, but because my sexual health is more important than his ego, and because I do have tattoos (although I trust my tattoo artist and the sterility of her shop, I choose to be overly cautious). He’s also been tested multiple times since we’ve met, although he doesn’t choose to get tested regularly. All tests have come back clean.
