All working mamas! How do you deal with taking time off of work when your baby is sick?

I’ve recently switched jobs and it’s only my second month there and I’ve already had to miss 2 days due to my son being sick and having to leave daycare and no one else is available to pick him up for me. My job is very very understanding and I work extra hours to make up my time but I’m always feeling guilty and wondering what else I can possibly do to help this situation or let them know that I really had no other choice.

(I usually have a list of people to help me out but it depends on everyone else’s work schedules, plus my husband is deployed currently so he’s no help either 😭)
