Sounds like a sleep regression. Around 4 months of age babies go from always being in a super deep sleep to having sleep patterns that now resemble adult sleep (light sleep, rem, deep sleep). Sleep cycles usually last anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours, just like in adults. Basically your baby is waking up and doesn't know how to soothe itself back to sleep and is using you to soothe it, not because its hungry. Introducing purees will not make your child sleep longer. Some babies will learn to soothe on their own after a few months however, a lot of parents find this is an appropriate time to begin since form of sleep training. Hope this helps, best wishes!
Sleep help
My 5 month old son is ebf. For the last month, he has been waking up every 2 hours. I feed him and he eats and goes right back to sleep. I'm really tired of having to get up every 2 hours. During the day he goes 3 hours without eating. He does fine going to sleep at bedtime. He has a good routine and I put him to sleep drowsy and he falls asleep quickly on his own. Any tips to get him to sleep longer stretching at night?
