How long are you working?

I'm scheduled to work until first week of June and have officially maternity leave. However, my job requires me to be on my feet for 5-6 hours straight. Although at work they tell me I can sit down whenever I need, it's not possible to do. I'm already noticing how it's taking a toll on my feet and back and I've been thinking to take my leave early. I feel guilty for not taking it slow

I plan on working until my due date. I'm a nurse and on my feet 12/13 hours a day, 3 days a week. I worked until my last scheduled shift with my son- until 2 pm when my water broke and I rode the elevators up 2 floors and he was born 14 hours later at 39+6. Although I hope with this one not to have that happen again so I can shower and shave before heading into the hospital because I was a hairy beast when I delivered my son. Lol. Shaving when you are that pregnant is a feat.

I only have 6 weeks paid leave, so gonna try and work as close to my due date as possible. Luckily I can work from home to some extent when necessary.

I am a nurse and work 13 hour shifts on my feet. I plan on working to 37 weeks if everything goes well. I want to save maternity leave for when baby is here.

Finish 9 weeks before my due date and that’s because already I’m struggling being on my feet for hours, I work nights and in a care home

I’m a nurse and work 12/13 hour shifts. I’ll be finishing at 36 or 37 weeks, purely because I have to take the 4 weeks holiday I have outstanding before maternity leave starts on my due date

Me too! I’m scheduled till the 2nd or 3rd week of June... I teach dance in elementary schools and I’ve already modified my movements and exercises but I am getting tired quicker and my legs and feet get sore some days. I am thinking about having a friend take some of my classes closer to the end of the year. I still think I need to keep moving though so I’m not really sure what to do!!

Same here! I am on my feet 5 hours straight at work. Work in a cafeteria at a high school. My feet kill me all day long! I too was wondering about early maternity leave. Like maybe early June, I would only miss 2 weeks of work. My due date is middle of July so school will be out when baby is born and I will luckily have the rest of the summer. I wish I could take it early September just to have a couple extra weeks with baby, but not sure it works like that. 🤷‍♀️🤔
