Very long LH surge with induction?

Jani • South African | TTC since Oct 2017 for #1 | Two m/c since 2018

Hi all, we are doing IUI with Femara (Letrozole) this cycle. Did the induction injection on Sunday, 3 March at 4am in the morning.

I got a very almost positive OPK just a few hours later at 12:15 on the same day. Since that evening, I have been getting strong positives twice a day up until this morning (5 March), and it might even continue.

We did insemination yesterday (4 March) at 15:15 in the afternoon, which I know know was in the middle of my LH surge. So my question is, isn’t ovulation supposed to happen 36 hours or so after induction? How and why am I still getting positive OPKs today? Does it mean my ovulation will actually only be happening today? After entering my OPK into the Glow app this morning, they bumped up my ovu day to today (it was previously predicted for yesterday).

I am now just a bit worried that I may still not have ovulated and that our insemination may have been too soon. Hubby has low sperm count and motility, so I think doing insemination as close as possible to ovu is key. Not sure if the swimmers will survive that long.

Please help? Is it possible I could have ovulated yesterday and still be getting strong positive OPKs today?
