FIrst time pregnant.. need advice!

So this is my first pregnancy and I go in today for my 12 week scan. My first 2 appointments they did the transvaginal ultrasound and will do a traditional abdominal one today. Is the baby easily found with having a plus size belly already? As in some extra weight/fat/rolls (whatever you want to call it) in the tummy area?Also, do any of you have your own doppler you use? Is finding the baby easy?
