Can I celebrate Mother’s Day???

So I had a conflicting conversation with a friend regarding Mother’s Day, and she said that since I’m still pregnant (15w) I not considered a mother yet, I disagree I feel that once you bare a child you are a mother whether the baby makes it to birth or not . Any opinions on this?

They do make mothers day cards for mothers to be so I say you can celebrate but it may be a little more special once your baby is born

Not trying to be rude, but does your friend have kids? Yes I believe once you conceive you are a mother. I was pregnant last year on Mother’s Day and my boyfriend made me a nice dinner of my choice and we had a movie night. Celebrate if you want, don’t let anyone rain on your parade. Congrats momma!

I was 8 months pregnant on Mother’s Day. My own mother told me I wasn’t a mother yet and that I couldn’t celebrate Mother’s Day until the following year, after I have my baby. My husband ended up taking me out for breakfast to celebrate anyway.

we chose not to celebrate Mother's Day and Father's day until after the baby was born but that's just us. just like I know friends who started celebrating Mother's Day and Father's Day when they were still pregnant.

I lost our first in 2015 and everyone still wished me a happy mother's day every year after that until we got pregnant with our rainbow. While it breaks my heart to not have our first with us physically, it also was nice to have that recognition of you carried life within you, you're still a mom. So do as you will and eff anyone who says otherwise. You are growing a tiny human. You are a mom. It doesn't start at birth for women.
