Any young moms who breast feed?

I’m only 19 and I really want to Breast feed . My baby’s due in August . Any tips from younger moms ?

What difference does it make to breastfeeding just because you're young.? I seriously don't know.

La Leche League is awesome. They've been my go-to for a lot of nursing stuff. Definitely get a pump. It's been my best friend especially since I can't fully nurse anymore.

Take a breastfeeding class. Sometimes breastfeeding goes off without a hitch, but sometimes it's a real struggle and the classes will help prepare you in knowing what to do

Go to your local WIC office. Or health dept. They have lactation consultants. Along with breast feeding classes I'm sure are offered by the hospital you choose. Also let your Dr know you plan to breastfeed so at birth you can try and they will be there to help you. And also they can provide a manual pump if you ask them. I had my first baby at 16 and loved nursing but due to little knowledge I only nursed for 2 months. Stay calm and lots of skin to skin.

Don’t give up. It may take longer for baby to latch or could latch immediately. But if it does take longer do not give up. Keep trying. Eat healthy and plenty. Drink plenty of milk and water. Stay as stress free as possible. Pump or nurse often. I had my son at 17 and I breast fed for a year and a half. You can do it!
