What's your partisan affiliation?

Rachel • Glow Community Manager

Okay, so here's a partisan affiliation poll. You don't need to actually be registered to a particular party to have a partisan affiliation, which is why there's no "independent" option. In a two party system, almost everyone generally leans on way or another, all else being equal. Having a party affiliation does not mean you would never vote against that party, just that you tend to fall to that side.

My beliefs fall closest to Democratic Socialist, but I typically vote in line with the Democratic Party. I live in a state that doesn’t require party registration. 👌🏻

I never register as a democrat or a republican, though I lean democratic, and would identify typically as a moderate democrat. I do this for one main reason: I think it’s misinformed to vote strictly based on party lines. It is work, but I look up all the main candidates during election time, and vote based on how closely they align with my personal policies and views. I voted for a republican governor this year, and while he didn’t win, I stand by that choice. Just because a person does not affiliate with your party does not inherently mean they cannot represent your views, or that they can’t be effective in office. It also allows for balance in views. I read heavily right and left media, as well as more moderate information, as I figure you can find the truth if you look at both sides. I had a lady, whom I admire and respect, who said the words ‘let’s see all the red!’ during the mid term elections. All I could think was that from what I know or, the ‘red’ she was referring to for our state did not represent what is important to her based on business practices etc, but also recognize that she has every right to feel that way.

American but I dont feel either major party fully represents how I feel. I lean more Republican but I don't feel the current leadership represents Republican at all I guess I'm a hybrid of sorts because theres things I disagree with that tend to be affiliated with the R party and theres things I agree with that tend to be associated with the D party. I just hate all the parties to be honest and our leaders are so short in term I dont believe they make real change. The power is in the Congress, house and Senate

I consider myself centered but a lot of people would consider me Republican. The most conservative outlook I have is pro life. I'm not for big government either Republican or Democrat
