My birth story a month later!
I was due on January 31, 2019 with a baby boy. I had a false labor scare on December 26th I was only half a centimeter dialated and not effaced at all. I kept experiencing these cramping pains on and off since that false labor scare. On January 29th I was having a lot of these cramping pains but thought nothing of it.
That night I couldn’t sleep, my fiancé kept asking me if I wanted to go to the hospital but I kept refusing because I didn’t want to be sent home and I knew that in the morning (January30) I had an ob appointment. I just told myself to wait it out til then. I also had been losing my mucus plug that entire week. Anyways I began to pace the house sit on the toilet for hours and even took a chair into my shower since I don’t have a tub. I was doing everything possible to keep my mind off the pain. Finally the time comes to go to the appointment, I wake my fiancé and we get there. When my doctor checks me she tells me I’m 7cm and I need to leave right that second and go straight to the hospital, she called in an epidural for me so that when I got there it would be ready for me. I arrive at the hospital and I’m put in a room immediately they start an IV bag so as soon as I was finished with the bag they could get the epidural in. ( I technically didn’t need the epidural the pain was still bareable but I was afraid that later on I wouldn’t be able to take the pain and then it would be too late so I took it) they come in and put in my epidural luckily on the first try! I finally was able to rest some, the epidural stalled my labor and I was stuck at 8cm. So they would flip me side to side and even tried the peanut ball, after about an hour and a half of stalled labor they decided to start some pitocin to get it going again. I was about another hour on pitocin and I finally felt pressure and wanted to push. I did three practice pushes with the nurse to get him lower. And then my doctor came in. I pushed 5-6 times in three contractions and he finally arrived at 6:30pm January 30th. Weighing 7lbs6oz. 19.5inches long! My Giovanni Enrique. He is now a month old and weighing 10lbs1oz and is 21inches long
