IV fluids?

Question

Has anyone had to go in for IV fluids?
I had to have an extra scan a few weeks back for low fluid...ended up dehydration so I've been on it.  Then yesterday I caught the stomach thing going around where I teach. I've kept maybe 10 oz of fluid down since 7 am yesterday (it's currently 11am)
My OB said if I couldn't keep anything down after 24 hours to go in...but with vomiting AND diarrhea (sorry tmi) I know I've surpassed the 10 oz that I got in me!  Should I bother my OB again?  Stick it out? Go get fluids? I just dont want to overreact

Go get fluids. Better safe than sorry and you will feel so much better. I have HG with my pregnancies and have to go in for fluids sometimes. Not a big deal but depending on how dehydrated you are, have them put it in your arm instead of your hand. One hospital I’ve been to only put it in my hand because of some weird policy but the needle was bigger than my vein and my whole hand was bruised and sore for weeks after.

I went in yesterday due to cramping and tightening, ended up being very very dehydrated and have a bad UTI. They gave me IV fluids and it made me feel a lot better!

Yes, call your doctor & let them know.  They will probably send you so L&D.  I had iv fluids for 5 weeks in the first trimester.  I have a port so a nurse would access it once a week & I would hook myself up every other night with the fluids.  You probably only need about 24 of fluids.  You will feel so much better.
