When to give kittens solid food

Question

I have 4 kittens who are 4 weeks old. They are not orphans and have their mom (she will be spayed after they are weaned) my question is when should I start offering them food? Obviously I'm going to let mom continue to nurse them up to 8 weeks but I have heard to start offering food around 4 weeks.

When my first cat had kittens my vet suggested I offer them wet food (specific for kittens) or dry kitten food moistened in warm water or milk/pet formula. They didn't really start eating it until 6-8 weeks but they did show interest in it.

My kittens started eat solid food around 4-8 weeks. (Mom died from a car at 1 1/2 weeks old) If their eyes are open, their ears are upright, and they are running around everywhere, that's usually the time they are ready. You can offer some soft food now and see if they can handle it :) some kitties mature fast

Soft food should be ok. Offer it n check. Some might go for it, others not, depends on the lil ones. They must be adorable 😍
