Maternity jeans?

Hello all,
I am all about the leggings (I’ve got plenty), but occasionally I like to wear jeans.
I think I’ve officially hit the point (16 + 4) where I definitely cannot wear my regular jeans.
So here’s my question(s): how do you determine your size, and what are your favorite stores/brands?
I’m looking for good quality but not too expensive, and I’m not a huge fan of skinny jeans...

Honestly try your local good will, no one usually ever wears them enough to put “wear” on them, and they are cheap. That’s where I have been scoring all mine from

I never bought new jeans. I purchased a belly band so I didn’t have to worry about buttoning/zipping and it helped me. It was always comfy and stayed in place.

I got a pair of seven for mankind and a pair of Paige denim and although they were both over $150, I’ve used them three pregnancies now and can sell them and get something at least. No one will buy H&M jeans for more than $10 second hand. I just buy a few key, non trendy pieces in solid colors and mix and match them. I’d rather have 5 tops and 5 pants that are good quality than a bunch of old navy stuff that shrinks in the wash. That being said, target has a lower end line of a higher end Ingrid and Isabel which is just as good for about half the cost. If you can find it on sale you could get a simple t shirt dress for $8.

I only ever found skinny jeans at target, but my favorite pair of non skinny jeans were from motherhood maternity on the clearance rack (the only way I was going to afford them 😂)

You should buy your prepregnancy size when getting maternity. I struggle bc no matter how small they go they’re never small enough. I did find that a:glow on kohl’s.com is amazing and true to size(xs/s fits me perfectly in all the right places) and they have jeans jeggings and leggings. Also threadup is amazing. It’s a second hand store but all online and great reasonable prices and a they have a lot of maternity. They also have “goody boxes” for $10 where they pick outfits(8-10 items) out for you you try them on and send back what you don’t want! Super fun! Good luck 😊

I’m trying out stitch fix to see if they can send me some decent options since there is only one store in town with maternity clothing (and just one tiny section of it). They sent me maternity skinny jeans from 1822 denim and I LOVE them. I don’t know if they have other styles besides skinny, but these feel SO good- I’d take about 5 more pairs. Stretch soft denim, and the top is full coverage and stretchy all over. I got another pair of full coverage Elsewhere - they aren’t stretchy all over, and just have one band of elastic at the top- they feel like they’re choking the life out of me.

I like Gap maternity for jeans. A lot of maternity jeans are thin, cheap, have no actual pockets and are more like leggings. The Gap ones are like regular jeans that just happen to be maternity. 
They have different options too - full panel, demi panel, and inset panel.
Trying them on is really the best way to figure out sizing. I find the Gap sizing runs a bit smaller than some brands. You never really know from one brand to another how they'll fit!

I bought my first pairs from Target.com at about 12 weeks. They were on sale for Buy one get one 1/2 off and I wore them up until about 28 weeks and decided I needed a bigger pair due to my hips. I Found the next 2 pairs on Motherhood Maternity Website, they say indigo something on the tag, and they were also buy one get one half off or free. I’ve only paid $65 for 4 pairs of jeans this whole pregnancy. I have a size 12 foot and don’t do skinny jeans either and all of these jeans have been comfortable and look brand new!
