Boobie Milk Popsicles!

So my baby is a total boobie milk baby. She literally refuses formula and will make a disgusted look if you try to feed it to her (that started immediately in the hospital too lol) but also gave up on the boob a while ago so mama exclusively pumps (officially 6 months in!! Woohoo! 1 year is the goal!) so for teething and just for fun, and also since my fridge bottles were full and my deep freezer basket is full, I decided to make some frozen milk cubes to put in those mesh feeders. I’ve taken pics and decided I’d share it all with you guys 😊 (also! I believe someone has mentioned this idea as well, so credit to you!)

I first started freezing the milk in the small medela bottles that are just over an ounce but they were too wide for the mesh feeder and I had to thaw and lose some milk to get it in so I thought about other ideas. I grabbed our old ice cube tray and measured the width which was perfectly sized the took some drawing tape and measured the smallest part of the mesh feeder and marked it and applied it to the side of the tray to see how much to fill it.

For my tray, and to the measurement, I used 7 oz of milk and got 14 cubes.

I lay it flat in my deep freezer to freeze up and bring it back in. I lay down a paper towel and flip this upside down on top of the paper towel and let it sit for a few to loosen while I mark my bags of the date and time.

I then pinch the bottoms of each cube hole until the milk cube pops out.

I store them in the same bags I use for freezing my milk for feedings so I can keep track of the dates and times.

And now you’ve got the perfect treat for your perfect little one! The tray is so much easier than the mini bottles, it’s the perfect snack, especially when they’re teething, it’s going to be convenient when summer comes and best of all it doesn’t stain!! Little Liv loves her boobie milk popsicles!
