Can you put an infant in a regular carrier?

I’m really put off by wraps. Some are expensive for something I’d not use for a long time, some have way too much material and look really hot, and most you have to tie yourself which I don’t like or feel comfortable with.

I’d like a carrier that can grow with my baby and NOT break the bank. ($120+ for an ergo is outrageous imo). I got this Infantino 4-in-1 carrier at the baby shower and I think it’s neat.

But, can this be used with a tiny newborn? Maybe not a week old...but a 3 week old baby? Anyone with experience using this kind of thing with a very small baby?
