Is the DockATot a “worth it” purchase?

I’ve talked to so many people who say it’s been a necessity of theirs. But I just can not justify the price for a fabric-wrapped tube.

They overstate their safety stats- it’s been deemed a hazard in Canada and no longer sold there, and some European countries have halted sales of it as well. Anyways it’s only useful for a few months before babies grow out of it.

Definitely not worth it. Usually the people who say it’s a necessity are putting their baby at unnecessary risk and letting the child sleep in it unsupervised, which the manufacturer warns not to do.

For US, the Dockatot was worth it! I cannot speak for others, but we LOVED it.🤷🏾‍♀️ Is it a necessity? No, I would not say that, BUT it is DEFINITELY convenient! In addition to the Dockatot, we also had the SnuggleMe Organic, Baby Delight Snuggle Nest, and Snuggle Nest Traveler. Those items are good, but the Dockatot was our favorite. We received the Dockatot Deluxe as a gift. Once she outgrew the Deluxe, we purchased the Dockatot Grand. We did not use the Dockatot as a co-sleeper because we did want to bedshare. Instead, we kept it downstairs in the living room and used it for naps during the day and traveling. Like I said, the other items we have are good, but nothing compares to the Dockatot.🤷🏾‍♀️👍🏾 This is MY opinion though. I know everyone thinks differently.

I'm a co sleeping mom. We follow all the recommended precautions for "safe," co sleeping, and understand the risks. 
That being said, in the beginning of the night my son starts out in his snuggleme organic, in our bed. So when he's older I can move the snuggleme to his crib for an easier transition. It's a lot like the dock a tot, but cheaper. He sleeps very well in it, and when he wakes for the first time I remove it from the bed and he just nurses then cuddles with me or dad. I have severe anxiety, I was medicated with my first baby, but haven't felt the need for it this time around, doing WAY better the second time around. 
With #1 co sleeping was horrible because I woke up CONSTANTLY to make sure baby was breathing/alive. With #2, we bought an owlet sock and I can sleep *more* soundly. He wears it in his snuggleme (because it's not technically recommended for sleep while mom is asleep too,) and while he's cuddled with me or my husband. 
I know this wasn't about co sleeping, but I felt the need to explain how we use ours, and that without the snuggleme/owlet combo we wouldn't be sleeping. And he wouldn't be sleeping in it/with me without the owlet.

We had it. Our little never liked. We found out its because she is a tummy sleeper. It was a waste and useles for us. I hear kost babies love it tho.

I couldn’t justify the price but wanted something he could sleep flat in during the day near me so I bought a knock off on amazon. I have to say I love it and wish I would have bought it while pregnant instead of when we got home from the hospital and I realized how much babies sleep and that I wanted to be able to keep him near me.
