Sudden migraines

For the past few days I have been experiencing a constant migraine. It stops for an hour or so and then comes back. I can’t stand to be in the light so I’ve been trying my best to stay in the dimmer areas. I can barely stand to move my eyes because it’ll just increase the pain. It hurts so bad that my eyes will start to cross and I get nauseous. My dad said it’s from my birth control but I’m not sure because I’ve been in it for two years. Do side effects just pop out of nowhere like that? I’m not going to go to the doctor right now because I don’t know if it’s enough cause. If y’all think it’s that bad then I’ll go but I want to know if it’ll pass or is it something worse
