Birth story 💕👶🏼
March 5. I was scheduled to be induced at 39 weeks due to gestational diabetes insulin dependency. I got checked in for induction at 5am. I was dilated to 1 and 50% effaced. At 6:30 am cytotec and a folley balloon were inserted. At 10:30 am the balloon was taken out and I was dilated to a 3. 11:00 am we started pitocin. They manually broke my water at 11:31 am. Things got pretty intense after that so I lost track. I got the epidural at 1pm. I was able to drift in and out of sleep at that point. I felt defeated because I really wanted to go all natural , but I’m honestly so glad I got the epidural. It made the rest of the birth so pleasant. Next thing I know it’s 11:20pm. I’ve dilated to an 8 and I’m 70% effaced after they have flipped and flopped me around to every position imaginable. They called my doctor so she could make her way to the hospital. 20 minutes later my doctor arrives and checks me. I’m complete and +2! I couldn’t believe how fast I dilated at that point. They got everything ready to push. I pushed for about 15 minutes total. Baby girl was born at exactly 12:00 am on March 6, 2019. She weighed 6lbs 10oz. She’s 20 3/4 inches long. She’s so perfect. 💕💕💕
