Anyone use period panties as their only source of period protection? I searched the topic and found that most people used it as backup. I have specific old undies that I use for backup so don't feel the need to spend money on something else just for backup.

If you use the panties solely, do they work as far as keeping it contained/not leaking? Do you feel dirty, like it's all over you? Smell? Cleaning? Clumps?

I need all the dirty details!
