Should I get epidural while getting induced ?

Any experience with epidural or without epidural. Please comment.

For me, the epidural saved my whole delivery experience. I had two doses of Cytocec and was in early labor for about 12 hours, which wasn't too bad but that only got me to 1cm. They gave me one more dose, and that one gave me contractions that were almost unbearable for about three hours straight until I finally gave in and asked for an IV painkiller. They checked me again after all that and I was only at 2cm 😑 Plus the IV drug wasn't working at all and at this point I was literally sobbing like a big baby 😂 I was exhausted so I let them give me the epidural, and was asleep within 10 minutes. Woke up not even an hour later at 8cm in no pain, she broke my water and I was at 10cm in about 10 minutes. Baby was out within the hour, no pain and no tears. She told me afterwards the epidural probably saved me from getting a c section because my body was in too much pain, so I couldn't relax enough to dilate. I might've been stuck at a 2 for god knows how long 😭 I will say though that my back still aches a little bit now 3 weeks pp, but idk if that's just regular pp after pains or because of the epidural.

I had a very fast, intense labor. Water broke at 10 and before 10:30 I was screaming at the top of my lungs that I was dying with every contraction. I had a failed epidural at first and had to have it redone a few hours later, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I couldn't even think from the pain and I have a high pain tolerance! There are women who can do it without and I applaud them, but not this girl!

My doctor recommends getting it before they break your water because after that things get intense

My second I was induced with pitocin and didn't have an epidural.

I've been induced 5 times and not once had an epidural I guess I wouldn't really know what a labour without induction would be like 🤔

My contractions on pitocin had literally no break in them. I ended up in horrible horrible nonstop pain for about 6 or 8 hours while I dilated from a 1 to a 5 and then i was finally eligible at 5cm I got it.

It depends on YOUR pain tolerance. I got induced 3 times using pitocin and not once did I get an epidural. It’s really up to you. Everyone’s experiences are different.

Honestly with my first I wen 48nhours with out it but once I got the epidural I slept and had him a few hours later. My daughter i had it to start and my labor was short and simple. I plan to get it with my son as well this time around.

Depends on your pain tolerance and what’s being used. Pitocin for most people makes contractions really hard. I had my second induction yesterday, but just had my water broke and my contractions started by themselves so I didn’t have an extra medication, but I did end up getting what would somewhat be considered a walking epidural anyways.

I was induced and got the epidural. It was a life saver but I still felt the pressure. It made it easier for my doctors as well because I was high risk for a c section, it was one less thing for them to worry about.
