A big fall!!!!!

I fell yesterday and landed on my knee the moment on impact it swelled and a ball formed,I iced it and went to bed but is it normal for my knee to feel numb like someone put anesthesia in it,I can’t feel the skin around it,my husband says it’s normal after a fall but has anyone else experienced numbness after a fall? It’s been 10 hours and it’s still numb
