So here’s a little story, I need some advice.

I’m a senior in high school and have been a competitive dancer since grade school. This is my last year and my competition happen to fall on the same weekend as my schools spring formal dance.

Now I love school dances, they’re my favorite. I’ve expresses my anger/upset with the fact I have to miss them, however I have no control over scheduling.

My boyfriend is obviously also upset and wants to attend. I said it was fine if he went with his guy group of friends, however said I was uncomfortable with him taking another girl. Here he says it’s annoying bc there are plenty of girls who would want to go with him and I’m making him miss out.

I don’t know what to say here. I know if it were the other way there would be no way in hell I would go with another guy. So long story short he’s somewhat mad at me, how can I explain that I don’t want to be a controlling girlfriend, but the thought of him spending the evening with another girl and dancing with another girl makes me sick?
