Welcomed our little love March 8th đź’™
This whole pregnancy was a long and true journey for us. I can honestly say I had it easy until the very end. I had my 39 week appointment March 6th at 11:00 am with no signs of labor. I wasn’t thinned or dilated at all. I got home afterwards, around 2:30 pm, I had my “bloody show”. Starting March 6th around 9:00 pm I started having back contractions. We went to the hospital around 2:00 am due to them being 2-3 minutes apart, but I was only 1cm dilated and 70% effaced. We made another trip to the hospital later that day around 3:00 pm because my doctor wanted to check me, I was still at 1cm dilated 90% effaced. The back labor got more intense as the night/morning went on so we made our third trip to the hospital to see if I dilated anymore. I was at 1.5 cm still 90% effaced. The contractions had me shaking so the nurse hooked me up to an IV then we got sent home. We got home around 12:45 am, then about an hour later my water broke at 2:00 am. We got to labor and delivery around 2:30 am, they put me in a room and gave me the epidural. I progressed to 10cm by 1:00 pm. The doctor came in, I started pushing but he was not coming out vaginally due to my pelvic bone not opening up. I pushed for over an hour before the doctor decided it was time to go to the OR. Baby boy was born at 2:03 pm on March 8th by cesarean section. He weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces, 21 inches long.
Original due date was March 10th. Due to this being our first baby, we walked in the hospital with out mindset that we were going to have a natural birth. Things do not always go as planned. We were both an emotional wreck when we had to make the decision of having a cesarean, but very thankful we have a beautiful, healthy baby boy. We are so blessed đź’™
