Not sure why this popped into my head but here it is. If you use a dishwasher for your dishes, do you wash them with soap and water prior to putting them into the dishwasher? Do you simply just rinse the food off? Do you do something else?

My brother in law fully scrubs and washes all of the dishes with soap and water before putting them into the dishwasher. I personally just make sure all of the food is off and if anything is stuck on, I’ll scrub it off. But I let the dishwasher do the sanitizing and use my sponges and dish soap for the things that I hand wash only.
