So kinda long, unorganized story but.. My MIL is a VERY difficult person. No matter what, she's offended. She has three sons who are all great men but she CANNOT except the fact that they are grown. She is very pushy and overbearing, steps on my toes and no matter how "good" of a relationship is between her and another human being, she has something bad to say about them whether it be family or not. Anyways my husband eventually told her to back off a little bit bc he has a wife and himself who can handle things in our lives. She wants to do EVERYTHING for him and it's obviously in a condescending way, even wifely duties that I should be doing. I have prayed and prayed bc we love her but she tends to ruin relationships with people easily. Both her other sons hate being around her and rarely come around. She has tried being a home wrecker and even told me she misses my husband's ex's and still talks to all of her other sons ex's. As of right now she is giving both me and my husband the silent treatment bc he told her to stop smothering him in a stern but polite way. She wasn't the best mom to them growing up so its weird that she's trying to hold them back now. She doesn't respect a single human being and the negativity is so hard to be around but at the same time idk if it's biblically right to shut family out? My husband's dad is great but he kinda just sits back and let's her do all of these things. It's gotten so bad that her other son refuses to bring his kid over and his wife has no communication with almost the whole family. I absolutely do not mean anything hateful I've just been in a rut and no matter how much I pray I feel like the only direction I'm being led to is to take a break from her and continue prayer, just from a far....
