Ideas to support a cancer family
this may be a bit long, but i would appreciate tremendously if many of you could read and help me with this: i’m an 8th grader, and my math teacher, who is one of the best teachers i’ve ever had, was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer a few days ago. she had been out at least once a week for the past month or two because of severe back pain, and after getting some scans, she discovered that she had breast cancer that spread down her spine, pelvis, and legs. she was told that if she were to continue to walk a large amount, her legs would begin to break. she may be able to finish out teaching this school year, but they aren’t sure. she has two kids, a 14 year old daughter, who is a friend of mine and is in my grade, and a son, who is 8 years old, and in the second grade. i was trying to find a way to help her and her family, and that’s where you guys come in. i have over $700 saved in my allowance, and i’ve always just planned on saving it for “a rainy day,” but i thought about giving some to their family. i can’t set up a go fund me, and i would preferably like to do this anonymously. do you guys have any ideas in which i could help them? (doesn’t have to be financially)
UPDATE: she came to school briefly and is already in a wheelchair, as she can’t walk too much due to her legs. she is kind of a family friend, so i believe it would be okay to donate. they’re a middle class family, but i know it isn’t hard to fall behind on paying for treatments and things like that. her sister has actually raised over $500 already to pay for making dinner for her family for these next few months. her daughter seems to be doing okay
