Where to put the glider??

Thoughts appreciated from those who have been there. 
I have ordered a glider that is due to arrive this week. I had originally planned to put it in baby’s room. The thing is, baby will sleep in our room for the first few months. Does it make more sense to put the glider in the living room for now (so I can rock the baby in the day) then move it upstairs when baby moves to his room? Or should I keep it in the baby’s room as planned? The living room is downstairs and all the bedrooms are upstairs, so if I do want to rock the baby in the night and nurse somewhere other than bed, it might be more convenient to have the glider upstairs and down the hall...

I ended up feeding my first in bed usually. It was just easier to sit there with a pillow. I would say keep it upstairs though. At night you won’t want to go up and down if you do end up sitting there. 😊

Kept it in living room for the first 5 months until I wasn’t nursing as much (they’ll start to cut out some sessions) so then I put it in nursery

I kept it in the living room because that’s where I fed my baby in the middle of the night. I didn’t want to wake my SO and I liked to watch TV to keep myself awake while I fed baby and lulled him back to sleep.

I kept the chair in the baby’s room. I’ll be in it the most for breastfeeding and I can close the door. It’s a calming room for me with everything their for baby. This way my husband can sleep easier at night, but it isn’t a far walk for me and baby. Major factor for me was being table to control the temperature of the room the easiest. Especially for the winter, I know it’s months away but I won’t be having to move the chair.

I'm doing glider in the baby's room, but I don't rock in it and don't plan to. Got it secondhand from a friend for my first little one and it's worn out and the lock will catch while rocking, jolting the chair to a standstill. It's really hard a chair to sit on to head the baby. During the first months of the baby sleeping in my room, I'll just feed in bed. The pack n play I'll be using for my son will be right next to the bed. The less extremely sleep deprived me has to travel the better 😆 I'll change if that doesn't work smoothly like with my first but I'd definitely want it at least on the same floor.

I keep our swing/glider/bouncer in the livingroom as it is not a safe sleep space and is a great way to entertain baby when I have other things I need to do around the house (cook, clean, ect.) If baby does fall asleep I always transfer to a safe sleep space asap.

I'm keeping my rocker in the nursery (also upstairs with all bedrooms). I think itll be easier to have a separate room to feed the baby other than our room.
