Hi ladies

Just started desogestrel, the progesterone only contraceptive pill. I decided to start the pill after having a pregnancy scare last month.

It was with a boy i have loved for as long as I can remember, we are best friends and all of our friends tell us we should be together and Im working on it, 6 years on 🙄😂

Anyway that’s besides the point...

The nurse (who happened to be this boys mother!!!😂) was very informative and helpful and I feel confident to start the pill and hopefully not have the same scare again for a while!

I forgot to ask my nurse a few questions as I kinda wanted out of the room (was very awkward because of who she was 🤣)

If any of you lovely girls can answer any of these questions I would be grateful! (You’ll save me that awkward trip back to the hospital!)

1. Is weight gain a noticeable issue?

2. How much is your mood affected?

3. Does acne become a big problem?

4. Does alcohol affect anything related to the pill?

5. Will it affect my fertility in the future?

6. Should I still use condoms just incase?
