Is being a military SO as bad as it seems?

I’ve been in the military and have a SO in the military. 
I think they both suck lol.

It’s really not that bad. Do we hate the separation? Yes. Do we hate going days without talking? Yes. But at the end we make it work. I have been doing it for 2 years and it became easier. And sometimes the distance makes us appreciate each other more.

All relationships have there struggles and perils. Non military families have issues just like military families do.

It's what you make of it...but I'm also military soooo I guess it makes it a bit easier

I don’t think it’s fair to say people dramatize it, for some people it really is that bad. The experience can vary drastically from one couple to the next. Some service members are in significantly more dangerous positions than others and/or deploy for much longer periods of time or more frequently than others. 
I personally have very few complaints, but I would never downplay someone else’s struggles by saying they dramatize it.

There’s good and bad parts of it. Not seeing them for a long time sucks but when I can finally kiss him it makes the wait worth it

The military definitely takes a toll on any relationship. But communication trust and sacrifice keeps a relationship strong.

My husband likes it he's a stay at home dad now so it's easier than the brutal manual labor he was doing before I joined.

My SO is in the military I don’t like it when he’s gone but we make it work I guess there are just certain things people are willing to do for the ones they love and if that means supporting him in his decision to be in the military then that’s what I’ll do
