Newborn pictures.. price and are you getting them done?

I live in Orange County and I’m finding newborn photographers with all props are super expensive!! Like sitting fee and then you have to buy packages starting at 600+. 
Is it worth it.. or would u just buy ur own props and hope for the best at home lol 
If you have a more affordable suggestion in terms of photographer in OC please comment!! Ty

No recommendations for Cali as I’m in Wisconsin- but you could ask around for a photographer that doesn’t do IPS and has an inclusive package (basically sitting fee plus print release/or some digitals/option to buy prints only if you’d like) 
Not all photographers do IPS
with that being said- I’d pay the $. I’m a newborn photographer in Wisconsin currently pregnant with my 4th- but I even hire someone else for my newborn shoot. You’ll be recovering from giving birth, you’ll be tired, and baby will smell you and constantly want to nurse. (Plus you may want to be in some pictures as well)
It’s a great investment with priceless memories if you can pay it.

From MD, so no help for CA recommendations. But we did a grow with me package for $750. Included nb, 3, 6, 9, 12 months. We got 25 images to keep (could purchase more if wanted). Added the cake smash for $50 and got an additional 25 images. It’s totally worth it! Shop around - A ton of photographers advertise on FB.

Mine would have been $50 done by my friend with her photography business ( would be $50 even if we weren't friends) but she took an extra 2 weeks to get our last set of maternity pics done so she's doing them free. Idk why people pay so damn much for pictures..

Eh I’ve seen peoples at home photos and theyre not good. Id do it. Your baby is only an infant once. Keep calling around. In nh its 250-300 for an hr and 10 digital edited images. You just live in an expensive area. Maybe find a newer photographer whos good?

We did ours at the hospital system that I work for which is also where we delivered. They contract with Bella Baby and they did an amazing job! Our cost was $350 and it came with ALL of the pictures and a photo package that included 10 8x10 prints and a canvas.

I don’t have any recommendations on a photographer, but you could definitely do them at home. Just find a cute set up and DIY it. Like a little basket and a big fluffy blanket, some string lights, a back drop (which could be a blanket). Save yourself some money lol. Phones these days take pretty good pictures 🤷🏻‍♀️
