so uh, anyone else had a bad experience with coconut oil lube?

My partner and I used this one coconut oil based lube for around a month and we’ve both suffered for it. 
him: rash, chafing, irritation, soreness
me: rash, chapped labia, blisters, swollen vagina, itching, burning when peeing 
also any advice on how to alleviate the pain? I was thinking bag balm in the interim but I’m a bit wary of putting it down there

I use 100% extra virgin coconut oil for lube and never have issues. It’s the only thing that don’t mess up my ph balance

I used 100% organic, cold pressed, unrefined coconut oil as lube for at least a year. Never had infections or issues. Coconut oil actually cleared up yeast infections for me because it’s antibacterial. I think the issue is that you used coconut oil based lube, not the actual oil. The other ingredients in the lube is probably what caused the reaction, I suggest water based lube or pure coconut oil next time.

I’ve used diaper rash cream on my labia with no problems. The zinc oxide kind. Very soothing.  Hubby and I have just started using straight up coconut oil for lubrication on him. Sometimes he gets dry, flaky spots on his penis and the coconut oil helps alleviate them. There could be something else in the lube that’s causing you both irritation. Have you tried other lubes or just plain coconut oil? If you’re wary now, I feel you. What your going through is uncomfortable!  Good luck!

I used coconut oil for lube and kept getting UTIs. Once I stopped the UTIs stopped too.
