Circumcision Regrets??

Question

Prefacing this by saying not here to start a debate! Just would like experienced moms opinions!
So I’m pregnant with #3 and the first boy. I’m doing all my research regarding circumcising baby and if it’s best for us.
I’d love moms opinions that had boys and did go through with it and are happy they did or moms that did it and regretted it OR moms that left baby intact and wished they hadn’t. 
I really appreciate honest feedback!!

I hate the whole, "I don't have a penis so I left it up to my husband," thing. Honestly I was going to be dumb like that too, but I realized I'm capable of research even without a penis! Who would have thought!!! Anyway, we read that it is a functioning part of the penis and it is basically useless to circumcise. When they asked us in the hospital, we declined and they were actually telling us thank you, because they hate when parents go for it. Later, my husband asked if there are any benefits, and the MEDICAL PRIFESSIONALS told us flat out NO. I'm glad I didn't disfigure my son for no reason. 🤷‍♀️ He has zero problems and will go through life as a whole man.

I would watch American Circumcision on netflix. It’s truly an unnecessary procedure. It’s a cosmetic surgery. That’s all it is. 
I’m having a boy in 7 weeks and we are leaving him intact. Leaving him exactly how he was made and meant to be ❤️ it’s easy to clean. There’s things to learn about hygiene just as you would about a baby girl (like being conscious of not wiping the poop into her vagina, and being careful wiping poop from her labia and clitoris). There’s just things to learn about wiping your baby boy clean as well. But it is not complicated. 
Doing a cosmetic surgery in fear of your child having some pain in the future is ridiculous. Because 1) you’re much better able to handle the pain when you’re NOT a newborn baby!!!!! and 2) just because my children are genetically prone to certain things doesn’t mean I’m going to perform medical procedures on them as babies to “save them” for the future. For example, my daughter is extremely likely to get breast cancer, but you don’t see me getting her mammary glands removed... and breast cancer is infinitely worse than getting an infection on your penis. I’m sorry our culture has turned this whole thing into something to tip toe around. But there’s zero question to me. 
When I studied this as well, I realize the people who DID circumcise didn’t have a legitimate reason. It was either for aesthetic reasons, just cuz their husband was (and their husbands were for no good reason either), or because of this whole “oh dear! WHAT IF he got an infection?!?” .... like your kids will probably get a few ear infections in their lives and it can affect their HEARING ability. What are you doing about that? Nothing. It’s just a really stupid point if you think about it.

Our son is circumcised and it was never even a question. My husband and I just agreed that was the route we were going to take. I think the biggest thing with not getting baby circumcised is that when they get much older they aren’t able to properly clean it causing infections. Do whatever feels right for you and baby!

Just adding two cents here - I don’t have a son but I have a quick story with extra info for your decision.... My male friend had a circumcision as an adult for his own silly reasons (wanted to work in porn hahaha). Anyway - He totally regrets it as he told me sex with a foreskin was ALOT better....as in far more pleasurable. Weird hey? He said the tip of his penis lost most of it’s sensation that it had before which makes sense as the foreskin protects it from that. 
Personally I think it should be your child’s decision at the end of the day - if I had a son I wouldn’t want him angry with me for cutting off his foreskin, I’d let him decide when he was 18/21 and then pay for it. Yes, it’s a “bigger” operation when you’re older but at least it would be his choice. 💛
Good luck mama, hope you’re happy with whatever decision you make & kudos for doing research - it’s a difficult decision as I know in USA it’s still the norm to be circumcised when most other countries frown upon baby circumcision. Xxx

We did not circumcise my now 2 yo. And so far no, regrets!  We have had 0 issues

Honestly I left the decision up to my husband because I don't have a penis. My husband is circumcised and he is glad that he is and wanted our son to be circumcised as well. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer.  My son had no complications and it healed very nicely. I felt some guilt initially that we had done that to him but my husband told me that he doesn't remember having it done. Do what you feel is right for your child.

We decided to get our son circumcised because one of my brothers had issues with it when he was 8 and had to get emergency surgery to get it done. 
I now wish I had done more research because they let a medical student do it (I was not in the room when they did it and was not aware until after) and  they did it incorrectly because it wasn’t far enough back. When the ring came off it was still stuck by a piece of skin and it was very painful for my new little baby. When it eventually fell all the way off that piece of skin stayed on so he has a kind of skin tag looking thing on the side. He is now 2 and the dr says it would be cosmetic surgery to fix it. 
I feel awful for having made him go through that and if I have another boy I will not make the same mistake again.

I did it with my son who’s now 3 months. They did it when he was 2 days old (He was a c section baby so I was still in the hospital). My husband caught the flu so I sent him home thinking they would wait to do it in the morning since it was close to 10pm. Then my OBGYN walks in like, “ Ok time for the circumcision! Where’s daddy because he’s going to need his support in there!?” So I told her I sent him home because I didn’t want him to get us sick and for him to get some real rest. And I decided I’ll go and support my little man through this. And OH MY GOD! I really wished I didn’t. It was awful to witness. The nurse had to be new because she was useless even my doctor was mad at her for her incompetence, we opt for the plastibell method because she said it was the least invasive but omg he cried and cried and cried I felt horrible. But now 3 months later I’m so glad we did it and got
It over with. Not to sound weird but it healed very nicely no bloody diapers ever and it took 5 days or so for the plastibell to fall off. But if u don’t have to watch I highly recommend that u don’t.
