I just got my iud inserted today. I have an understanding that i should be able to feel the strings if i insert my finger(s) and reach for my cervix.

However, i felt a bit of discomfort so i went to the bathroom and sat on the toilet, and i felt my string right at the entrance of my vagina.. i came back to bed and laid down and felt again and i definitely feel the end of the string at the opening.i carefully put a finger in and followed the string and i didn't feel the iud. Could it be possible that it moved down inside my uterus but hasnt completely come out? Is it possible that it can fall out this soon???? Or could it just be that the string was left too long? I am 6 weeks postpartum, if that helps.
